Labour TD Kevin Humphreys: Revenue is ‘penalising’ families who make payments through credit cards or debit cards

THE news that some householders will have to pay their Local Property Tax in November is unfortunate timing - especially with Christmas only around the corner.

There’s never a good time for any bills to come through the front door, but this property tax debt will make Christmas particularly hard for some families.

Credit cardholders and debit cardholders must pay their LPT for 2014 by November 27, according to the Revenue Commissioners.
