Female friends can build each other up - and bring each other down

I bumped into a female friend recently and we reminisced briefly about the intensity of our friendships with other young mums back in the day. I was feeling really sentimental until, with trademark pragmatism, my old friend said: “Don’t overthink it. We were all just in the sh*t together.”
