The frontrunner in the Fine Gael leadership race, Leo Varadkar, says he won't call a general election if he becomes taoiseach.

Mr Varadkar is the favourite to take over from Enda Kenny, so his views on the future of the minority administration do matter.

The Social Protection Minister doesn't believe the new leader should call an election to get a new mandate.
