Truth at last on Bloody Sunday
HAVING had their first sight of the Saville Report on the Bloody Sunday atrocity, relatives of the victims opened wide the windows of the Guildhall yesterday afternoon and gave thumbs-up signs to the people waiting on the street below. Fresh air poured into the venerable old building.
At last the people of Derry had heard the British government admit the truth.
Later they ceremoniously tore up the report of the Widgery Tribunal, a compilation of lies, published 11 weeks after the 1972 atrocity.
