McGuinness has explaining to do on why he’s the man for the PAC
OVER two months the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, John McGuinness, has brushed aside the extraordinary €250,000 cost of refurbishing his office when he was the Junior Trade Minister.
Mr McGuinness, the Fianna Fail TD for Carlow Kilkenny, has insisted that he had no direct input into the decisions on materials and the works done.
Last month Mr McGuinness defended the hiring of his son at a salary of €43,000 per year as a political secretary. Mr McGuinness further defended payment of some €48,000 for almost two years' overtime while in that post.
