In Lenihan we must now trust

APART from consistently ruling out immediate closure, the Minister for Finance stated all along that he did not have "a preferred option" for the future of the failed Anglo Irish Bank, other than to protect the interests of the taxpayer.

Now Mr Lenihan has settled on his preferred option.

The bank that everyone wishes had never existed is to be split into a funding bank and an asset recovery bank.
