Glorious battles in Croker – the games that just keep on giving

Just when it was thought that an outstanding GAA championship campaign could not get any better, the hurlers of Clare and Cork intervened to prolong the season to the last weekend of September when they drew 20 days ago.

They return to Croke Park this evening for a Saturday spectacular to decide who replaces Kilkenny as All-Ireland senior champions.

If that weren't enough to electrify the famous stadium, it will be busy again tomorrow for three All-Ireland Ladies' football finals, featuring Offaly v Wexford, Cavan v Tipperary and Cork v Monaghan in the junior, intermediate and senior deciders.
