Airport must learn its lessons

THE last thing Dublin Airport needed was a hammering by the EU Commission, especially at the start of the busy tourist season.

The commission raised security concerns that have nothing to do with passengers, but have instead to do with goods being brought into the airport for sale in shops and restaurants.

That breach of EU regulations was enough for inspectors to blacklist the airport until the problem is sorted.
