Don't worry girls, there's always our great personalities
What a relief that Ryan Tubridy – champion of all things contemporary, cutting-edge and politically correct, is hosting a “Personality Contest” as part of the Miss Ireland pageant.
It’s such a reprieve for those of us not blessed with bikini bodies, tumbling tresses and long legs. It was for this surely, that Women’s Lib was invented. Scrap the Equality Authority, the National Women’s Council; their job of work is done.
Along with the lovely girls (who, as it happens don’t have to be a bit lovely at all – natch!), perhaps talented Dundalk opera singer Tara Erraught can be persuaded to enter although she should be warned that despite it being a “personality contest” – 2FM will still be requiring her to strip off to her undies and, you know, there’s nothing like being described as a ‘woman with a great personality’ to make a gal feel fat.
