The headline hit the internet within seconds: Nigella admits taking cocaine.

But what was most interesting was the way the admission was framed. You know that old phrase about the devil being in the detail? Nigella amended that, yesterday, to "the devil is in the numbers".

You see, she didn't just confess to taking cocaine. That would have been simple and disastrous. Nor did she confess to taking cocaine once. That would have been incredible. No, she listed the number.
