Trump refugee security review is no worse than Obama's policies
The hysteria around Trump shouldn't deter the Taoiseach from acting in Ireland's national interest, writes Niamh Horan
In the "five minute" news cycle it's difficult to recall what made headlines a week ago, let alone last year. The criticism surrounding Donald Trump's travel ban - and Taoiseach Enda Kenny's vow to give Trump a piece of his mind when they meet - is a case in point.
So let's cast our minds back to St Patrick's Day 2016.
Kenny had just returned from his White House visit when he had to interrupt Dail proceedings to hold a minute's silence for the victims of the Brussels attacks in which 32 people died. It came four months after the Paris attacks. In that instance, 130 people lost their lives.
