This Government has done good work in culling quangos, but there's still more to be done
A SOUND bite, that clip you hear from politicians on the news, lasts about 12 seconds.
That's 36 words. That is usually the space that we have to communicate what we're doing, what we have done or what we are going to do. The result of this reality is that simple facts appear on the television or radio and complicated matters rarely do.
"We'll cut quangos" is another one of those phrases that suits our sound bite culture. Explaining what we have achieved doesn't.
