Our future is urban and eastern - we must accept that

The government of 2021 will be judged on its leadership and success on urban issues, writes Conor Skehan

Hard facts. That's what the Central Statistics Office doles out.

We call facts 'hard' because they are unyielding, uncomfortable - painful sometimes. Facts can make us angry, afraid, even irrational. Facts can't be wished away - sooner or later we must face the facts.

The CSO data released this week confirm that Ireland is eastern and urban. Fact.
