Mulcahy: Hayes' famous faces stunt is nothing new

* Brian Hayes has been getting a lot of flack for including a picture of the Queen of England and Rob Kearney in his electoral pamphlets but according to Alan Kinsella – political historian – it's nothing new.

"This has been going on for years. Anytime a celebrity comes to visit, all local politicians want to get a photo for future canvassing," he said.

"It was carnage when Nelson Mandela was awarded the Freedom of the City in 1986."
