Vodafone is the latest company vowing to create a ‘culture of inclusion around the menopause at work’ but does it really help to single out menopausal women for special treatment?

The aim is to create awareness that many women suffer adverse reactions that can affect their working lives, so at times they need more leeway to cope, and while it seems cynical to question something so obviously well-intentioned, surely it makes more sense to instead aim for a workplace that recognises the entire workforce needs to be treated with understanding.
