Lippy to trick men: you could not make it up

Believe it or not, women don't put on warpaint just to dupe men into dating, writes Ciara O'Connor

Last week, in a poll that made you want to move to a cave and never interact with another human ever again, 63pc of American males said they think women wear make-up to trick men into thinking they're attractive.

While it's tempting to write it off as more Yank madness, the poll seems to have hit a nerve this side of the Atlantic.

It has tapped into something that most women knew already, and that men (no, not all men. Not YOU, obviously) have quietly suspected, if not verbalised, for a long time.
