Kevin Doyle: Parties not as far apart as they'd like us to believe

Enda Kenny and Micheál Martin are two neighbours who have never got on - but now have a common problem.

They share a hedge which is starting to grow out of control, but neither of them wants to be the one to do the heavy lifting and take out the chainsaw.

In fact, they are so opposed to being the one to blink first that they are just avoiding each other altogether in the hope that they'll wake up some morning and find that the hedge is nicely trimmed.
