Another marathon meeting, and another fine pickle for the IFA leadership. Outsiders must wonder if these farm leaders are just gluttons for punishment.
The latest cliff-hanger is largely a result of the six farmers at the top of Ireland's main farm lobby group trying to engineer a way for themselves to hang on to power for as long as possible.
Instead of heeding the grassroots calls for their resignations weeks ago, they've tried to tough it out and now they want to rewrite the rule book so that if they 'step aside', they'll be allowed run again for the same positions.
