LIKE many parents I have been moderating my language in front of my children for their entire lives.
It hasn’t always been easy. Countless times I’ve had to struggle to control the urge to let loose with a foul-mouthed rant that would put potty-mouthed actor Colin Farrell to shame.
So you can understand that I was a little peeved to learn that, according to a new study in the American Journal of Psychology, my efforts to shield them from swearing won’t have made a blind bit of difference one way or the other.
