When Michael D meets queen, the horse should dominate discourse

How grand to see an tUachtarain attend Leopardstown Races on St Stephen's Day, and enjoy such popularity with the racegoers.

And wasn't it fabulous to see JP McManus triumph with his horse Defy Logic on the day? May I suggest that the President puts this into his conversation log for the upcoming state visit to Britain in the spring of 2014? In discourse with Queen Elizabeth, any occasion that touches upon the horse will always be a success.

I've had occasion to watch Elizabeth at many an event, but the most content, the most absorbed mood I've glimpsed was when I saw her deep in conversation with a jockey in Ascot's parade paddock.
