Martina Devlin: A vote for political power is a vote for a witch-hunt
All week I've been checking my post box, watching for a leaflet to help me decide how to vote on the referendum about allocating extra powers to the Houses of the Oireachtas. Not a dickey bird.
So I choked on my morning coffee as Judge Bryan MacMahon, chairman of the Referendum Commission, announced confidently on Pat Kenny's radio show yesterday that every household in the State had received information.
Either there's a conspiracy afoot to keep me in ignorance or the commission has been slack about fulfilling its public duty. I live in Dublin, by the way -- not up a boreen at the back end of nowhere.
