John Drennan: Off with the heads of political no-hopers
The Taoiseach must wield the axe with impunity if he is to rescue his Government and his own prospects, says John Drennan
IT is an astonishing measure of how we are being misgoverned that Brian Cowen could this week justifiably replace 10 of his ministers and half the ministers sitting around the cabinet table.
In such a scenario a fever of fear and loathing -- and even hope -- should be coursing through the political blood.
Instead, as has so often been the case during Cowen's addled reign, there is almost an air of indifference about a reshuffle which must be radical if the Taoiseach is not to become redundant.
