John Drennan: Martin urges Coalition to act on Moriarty's new evidence

Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin has upped the political ante amid the ongoing fall-out from the Moriarty report, with a warning that the Government will have to deal with any new evidence that may emerge about the contentious report.

Mr Martin was responding to the revelation that the chairman of the tribunal is considering claims about the existence of a body of new evidence about the so called 'Doncaster Rovers' module.

Moriarty found that Michael Lowry had secured "a pecuniary advantage" as a consequence of the purchase by Denis O'Brien of Doncaster Rovers, but, qualified this finding with the admission that it could only ever make limited findings on the Doncaster deal because of the "suppression" of evidence.
