Noonan now faced with a dirty three-cornered Budget row
So they are back tomorrow after their 10-week break, bar the quick one-day return earlier this month when they dealt with the extraordinary Apple saga. On balance, the 158 TDs probably needed the break away from the Leinster House bubble.
And the rest of the nation probably benefited from a small cooling down of the in-yer-face nature of politics which has been with us for near enough a year. Mind you, the antics of one junior minister, John Halligan, did fill a lot of space in the interim.
All that said, it will be hell for leather between now and the year's end at very least. First up, of course, is Budget 2017, which is to be presented by Messrs Noonan and Donohoe a fortnight from tomorrow. Already, this is shaping into a dirty, three-cornered row.
