We are the architects of evil, not some Devil or demonic spirit
What is evil? Is it an act? Is it a state of mind? Can someone commit an evil act and still be deemed a decent person, or are they consumed by powers beyond their control which merely makes them agents of evil?
Frankly, I thought we had gone beyond such arguments. Indeed, many of us may have thought that we are living in an age of rational thought and empiricism, where we can examine despicable acts without having to go back into our past to look for some unseen, malevolent force.
But it seems, if anything, more people are beginning to think about things that go bump in the night without bursting into laughter, which would at least be a rational response to the idea that something like the Devil actually exists.
