London brings home some ugly truths

So three innocents dead. A terrorist shot. London shut down. Yes, another week, another terrorist attack. Amazing how we quickly we get used to them, eh?

What wasn't amazing was how quickly people reacted with platitudes and meaningless cant. Even as the medics were desperately trying to save lives outside Westminster, the poppycock started. 'Je Suis London' made its grim but inevitable appearance.

Candles were lit. A vigil was held. Londoners wouldn't be divided was the message from Sadiq Khan, the London mayor who a few weeks ago lectured his city's citizen about how they would "have to get used to" terrorist attacks in the UK capital.
