Ian O'Doherty: 'They are all individuals. But I'm not'
There are few things more stifling and suffocating than blind, unthinking conformity. Such unthinking acceptance not only stifles creativity, it's also the death of curiosity.
The unthinking, rigidly enforced conformity of a bog- standard 80s Irish Catholic upbringing always struck me as patently absurd and I could never understand why people would willingly buy into such obvious hogwash.
And so – says the standard narrative of the modern atheist: "I came to find atheism."
