Ian O'Doherty: It's time we learned to love Dublin

Only yesterday I met a friend with a typical tale from the city -- he had just been walking up Henry Street when a fight broke out between some skobies and the security guards in the shop they had tried to rob. The melée spilled on to the street and some passing girls were soaked by a cup of coffee that had been thrown in the course of the scrap.
