Ian O'Doherty: Don't feed the trolls – they might bite
There's not really much point in blaming social media for people's bad behaviour.
After all, we didn't decide at some secret meeting that the internet would be the last great breakthrough in humanity's never-ending goal to be as horrible to as many people in as short a space of time possible.
But a truly spectacular innovation was eventually overrun by spite-fuelled berserkers, flailing and fuming, and climbing over each other in their haste to make someone else's life a misery, like the marauding zombies in World War Z. But without the rudimentary spelling or grammar skills of your average member of the walking dead community (as they prefer to be called).
