After all, when it comes to fear and a laughable lack of understanding of electronic gadgets, we only need to recall Chris Morris persuading a load of gullible celebrities that paedophiles can use keyboards to emit noxious vapours to subdue children. As it turned out, the only victim of that stunt was arguably the comedian Richard Blackwood, whose career took a header after he pretended, on camera, to be able to smell these paedo-friendly fumes.
But it looks like we may have to start re-evaluating our relationship with gadgets, gizmos and things that need recharging.
