Welcome respite in a week of nauseating dogmatism
MAYBE, just maybe, Michelle Mulherin made the most honest, and relevant, contribution of them all.
The Fine Gael TD, who hit the headlines more than a year ago with her condemnation of what she termed "fornication", certainly cut to the chase in this week's abortion debate.
She kept her Dail speech short and to the point. Translated, what she said was that while she had strongly held anti-abortion views, she was damned if she was going to vote against her party and risk having her political career consigned to the dust heap.
