It's deja vu on charity chiefs' big bucks

THIS column hereby solemnly declares that it will not, this week, inflict on its readers yet another "bailout exit" piece. There will be another day for that. However, after the bizarre austerity celebrations of the past few days, the Irish media needs another "bailout exit" piece almost as much as it needs another sentimental Nelson Mandela obituary.
Instead, let us ponder the vagaries of human memory. We have now had a welcome exposure of the money-grubbing among CRC bosses, and that's in the process of being dealt with. However, doesn't some of this feel familiar?
Have the media and the political establishment flushed from their memory banks the fact that executive salaries in the charity business have long been controversial?
