LET'S give it a go in 2014! Ditch the negativity! Over the holiday season I found an inspirational website -- it's called Positive Ireland. It has terrific catchphrases ("Go Ireland!" and "This tiger will roar again" -- I'm not making this up). So impressive! It made me feel like -- well, to coin a phrase, "We can do it!"

Perhaps this column should not dwell on the negatives. Things like the country being asset-stripped on the instructions of unelected right-wing nutjobs from the EU.

Tens of billions borrowed to replenish the coffers of bankers and bondholders who made bad bets. As the positive people say -- it's all good, like.
