Eoghan Harris: Geek rabble didn't quite bring the House down
A beautiful morning in May. Good news about the EU rescue fund. God's in his heaven, and while all is not right with the world, at least it's a start.
Maybe the media miserymongers will finally pick up on the change in public mood. Yes, most of us are still angry, but most of us are moving on. The Irish Times has two items which remind us why it was good we did it without descending to the level of a mob.
First, Cyril Byrne has a fine picture of a piper, Paul McNally, playing against a blue sky at the Inaugural Commemoration for Daniel O'Connell in Glasnevin. O'Connell gave us a priceless constitutional tradition of peaceful protest and parliamentary politics. Thanks to that tradition we are getting through this grim crisis with dignity and decency.
