We're not speaking the same language
The most relevant people have been left out of the sports sponsorship debate, says Declan Lynch
THERE is a conversation going on, about the banning of alcohol sponsorship of sports. There is even talk that something will be done.
It may do some good or it may do some bad, or it may not do much at all – like so many of these official conversations about the drink, it never quite feels like the conversation that we should be having.
Indeed, as someone who would be broadly in agreement with Russell Brand's call to decriminalise heroin, I feel that banning things can simply become a way for governments to claim: "we've done something".
