Tiger is the genius who never got enough love
At the end of a standard-issue piece of hackery in USA Today on the arrest of Tiger Woods for "driving under the influence", and the issue of whether he did have "an unexpected reaction" to a variety of painkillers, or if there is a deeper problem, the author concluded: "We don't know that, because we don't know Woods. We never have."
And how true that is.
As a mark of how little they know him, they referred to his "squeaky clean reputation", as they are obliged to do under the rules of the royal and ancient game of hackery - a reputation which, though it existed only in the minds of those who did not know him, was apparently destroyed by the sex scandal that "will colour the way he's viewed forever".
