Declan Lynch doubts that Mark Zuckerberg himself saw Facebook having a 'head of social casino partnerships'
Bryan Dobson on the Six One News was talking to the man from the Rutland Centre about the Gambling Control Bill, the general scheme of which had just been published. They talked mainly about the proposed regulation of casinos, which will restrict the size of these establishments, thus ending Michael Lowry's dream of a new Las Vegas in his constituency.
There was also a mention for the proposed concept of a fund for the treatment of gambling addiction, financed by a levy on operators – an idea which has been strongly advocated in these pages, but they didn't mention that.
And then, right at the end, Dobson brought up the online dimension, which the legislation will also try to address. It was a bit like a discussion on the retail sector which concentrated on a few small-town grocery stores, with just a passing reference on the way out, to Tesco.
