How low will 'The Late Late Show' go in its search for ratings? Very, very low it turns out. Last Friday night it aired a Valentine's Day special that made your average episode of 'Big Brother' look prim and proper by comparison. Words like embarrassing or cringe-worthy don't even begin to capture how bad it was.

A priest has since attacked the show, and no doubt the programme-makers will be delighted with that. They might well enjoy a card-carrying, pulpit-thumping Catholic like me attacking it as well.

Being slammed by representatives of Old Ireland is something they can easily handle because these days Old Ireland packs a punch about as hard as my two-month-old nephew. But when I say the episode was bad, don't take my word for it, judge for yourself.
