This is a country that has been at war with high standards for a long time now. Three seemingly unconnected stories this week demonstrated that in full.
The first is a story this newspaper ran on its front page a few days ago, namely 'Doctors blamed for the rise of superbugs'.
The second is our impending exit from the bailout and the third is the proposed dumbing-down of the Junior Certificate.
