Darren Scully is not a racist. In fact, he "abhors racism in all its forms". He just "has issues with. . . certain nationalities from the continent of Africa".

Last seen resigning as Mayor of Naas in a cloud of ignominy two years ago, after he said he refused to work with "black Africans" because of their "aggressive attitude", the Fine Gael councillor is back to set the record straight.

In an interview with the 'University Times' this week, he said that he had learned a lot from the furore that hounded him from office in 2011. Namely, he was wrong when he maligned black Africans generally. After all, it would be racist to disparage an entire continent of people with a particular skin colour.
