Charlie Weston: Mortgage mis-selling complaints non-existent
NOT one person has complained to the Financial Services Ombudsman about being mis-sold a mortgage.
This is despite the fact that many of those struggling to repay their mortgages at the moment borrowed six, seven, eight, even nine times their salary during the housing boom.
They were also allowed to count in bonus payments and fictitious income from renting out a room. Now that incomes have collapsed, jobs are gone and vicious levies have been imposed, homeowners have found themselves saddled with mortgages they will probably never be able to afford.
