Busy Dr Camille flying high to see her Aidan
The Smurf's up. Or she will be on Wednesday. Victoria Smurfit is jetting in from Los Angeles for the day. The star of, once upon a time, Ballykissangel and more recently, Once Upon a Time, in the role of Cruella de Vil, is on a whistle-stop tour of her former hometown.
Meanwhile, another Irish beauty (someone shoot me if I am being reductive about women) Camille O'Sullivan is, she tells me, "currently losing my mind playing in the Edinburgh Fringe".
Lest we forget, half-French alt.chanteuse Camille is one of the most popular and critically acclaimed Irish acts at the Edinburgh festival. Camille, in fairness, started to lose her mind three weeks ago after she and her band had to "sleep on the floor in Heathrow due to Gatwick chaos" en route to her gig in Stuttgart.

The unpleasantness of the sleeping arrangements only lessened when Camille arrived in Germany for her big show and found herself "sitting in the same limousine that Bob Dylan had just exited".
This excitement was followed by a family holiday with daughter Lila and the child's grandparents in Brighton, before Camille travelled to Norwich to receive a doctorate.
"Not to sound like some idiot getting a doctorate for nothing," she says unnecessarily, "but I had a first honours degree in architecture before.
"That's the Prosecco talking here. I just feel slightly embarrassed getting something like that when people work so hard for it," adds Camille, who has worked very hard indeed, resulting in her much-anticipated show at the Olympia on October 19 being almost sold-out to the rafters.
Before that, she is jumping on a plane next month to see her beau Aidan Gillen in San Diego and then Vancouver, where she is shooting the historical TV drama Project Blue Book. I bet there's not half as much drama, historical or otherwise, as there is in Camille's own life.
A bubbly reception for Celia and Ger
The equine beau monde weren't quite horsing per se into the bubbly after the Horse Show at the Royal Dublin Society last Thursday night, but there was plenty of tres chic carry-on at the nearby InterContinental.
The hotel's general manager, Ennis man- with-the-plan Nicky Logue, welcomed Limerick leader-in- style Celia Holman Lee and her husband Ger to the Ice Bar. A glass or two of Champagne was enjoyed in the packed watering hole to the stars.
Fashion goddess Lorraine Keane and husband Peter Devlin had dinner in the hotel's smart restaurant Seasons and did also, I believe, enjoy a glass of Champagne. Well, it's summer, after all.
RTE star Julian Benson was in the same restaurant on Wednesday for lunch with mentalist Keith Barry.
Meanwhile, the previous Wednesday, Mark Feehily stayed in one of the finer suites at the InterContinental with his fiance Cailean, after Westlife's Asian tour finished. Who needs Indonesia or Malaysia, I say.
From Donegal to Balearics with love
Donegal is definitely in vogue once more. Primarily because Julia Roitfeld, model daughter of former Vogue Paris editor Carine, was in Donegal two weekends ago to visit her beau, Ash singer Tim Wheeler.
The Donegal duo du jour (apologies, I will desist from using French words after this!) after Daniel and Majella were also spotted in celeb Balearic island du jour (sorry, that just slipped out!) Formentera last Wednesday.
Tim certainly looked holiday-ready in a straw hat and floral shirt. The flowery top doubtless matches the loved-up mood between the Irish pop star from Downpatrick, whose biggest hit was Girl From Mars, and his beautiful other half, The Girl From France.
The latter recently posted on her Insta, alongside a loved-up pic of the two of them, the following: "Just a year ago my teen music crush became my main crush, became my main man in the most unexpected way. To many more!" As they say in Donegal, plus ca change!
Given we are all about Donegal this week, let's keep going! The Design & Crafts Council of Ireland (DCCoI) has announced that Hanna Hats of Donegal, along with five other Irish brands, will feature their work at New York's premier home and gift show entitled Shoppe Object next week. And why not?
Karen Hennessy, chief executive of the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland, told your diarist: "Shoppe Object provides an invaluable opportunity for these six Irish brands to meet exclusive buyers and influencers in person. We wish each of the participating designers and makers every success at the show and look forward to seeing commercial opportunities unfold for them."
Home is where the sun is for Ashley
Ireland's millennial heiress Ashley Doyle - daughter of David Doyle, second son of legendary hotelier PV - was spotted last week spending quality time lapping up the rays at her parents' luxury home in southern Spain.
The young Irish beauty, who recently got engaged to Leinster rugby star James Tracy in Mykonos, dined with her family at the five-star eaterie. Wearing her super-chic Pippa Holt (it's all right, I don't know who that is either) kaftan, Ash the Smashing looked Insta-perfect with her ultra-glamorous mama.
Still in heiress mode, Kate Appleby, of the Dublin diamond dynasty, was at the All Together Now festival in Co Waterford with her new husband Dominic Ryan.
The couple enjoyed a mini-moon on the Amalfi coast in southern Italy last month.
