Brendan Keenan: Recession may be over but keep bubbly on ice
THOSE who like their glass half-full can take some comfort from yesterday's figures on the economy's performance in the third three months of the year. But those who see their glass as half empty are equally entitled to continue on their gloomy way.
One really can turn these figures each way up, for a smile or a frown.
"We earned €15bn from investments overseas," says the optimist. "A lot of that is those brass plate companies which came here for tax reasons," says the pessimist.
