Why talking is key to a healthy sexual relationship
Communication is the essence of sex, where the basic function is to communicate genetic information from one person to another to create a new individual. A little talk goes a long way to ensure a stable relationship. We are not that far removed from the generations where sex was the great unmentionable, and even affection was not openly shown.
That has cast a long shadow.
Communication is the theme for this year's Sexual Health Awareness Week (SHAW) at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, November 12-14.
