When advertisers start airbrushing Julia Roberts, it's time to shout stop

During the week, the UK's Advertising Standards Authority banned a retouched Natalie Portman advertisement for Dior mascara.

The ad featured Ms Portman modelling her long lashes with the boast that this mascara has "volume-multiplying effect, lash by lash" and "an unrivalled lash creator effect".

Rival L'Oreal lodged the complaint with the ASA that the advert misleadingly exaggerated the likely effects of the product.
