BRITISH prime minister David Cameron and French president Francois Hollande will have had a passing interest in yesterday’s men’s Olympics handball encounter in which France beat the British team.



Britain does not take handball very seriously but it is highly popular on the continent and the French team won the gold medal at the Beijing Olympics four years ago.

Mr Cameron and Mr Hollande need a bit of Olympic distraction because relations between them are extremely strained.
