This sad school story
THE dismissal of Tomas O Dulaing as principal of Gaelscoil Thulach na nOg in Dunboyne, Co Meath, is a sad event which casts a shadow over one of the most promising developments of recent decades.
This school is both a Gaelscoil and an interdenominational school. That sets a dual challenge. But excellent teachers, and parents who must be intensely committed, should be able to meet any challenge.
Alas, in Dunboyne something went badly wrong when a dispute arose over separate religious instruction for Catholic children preparing for their first Holy Communion.
