Thirst for price hikes will leave consumers parched

There is little evidence there will be fairness for householders when it comes to water charges

If one half of you is on fire and the other half is frozen solid, on average you are comfortable.

That's the sort of comfort you can take from Phil Hogan's assurance that, on average, you will pay only €240 a year in water charges.

Some will pay less, many will pay substantially more. But even that is just for now. Just till after the next general election.
