Teflon Don is too slippery to ever see the inside of a prison

For any other politician, it would be the killer blow -- a conviction for tax fraud in his business empire, a jail sentence of four years and a long ban on holding public office.

But Silvio Berlusconi is not any other politician -- he's been through all this before. During 20 years of continuous court battles, he has wriggled out of numerous charges of bribery, false accounting and tax evasion.

Time and time again he has shown himself to be Teflon-coated through a mixture of political guile -- changing the law -- and reliance on Italy's calcified courts.
