Tanya Sweeney: Cuteness aside, toyboys are jumpy – they need training

Puppy dogs are cute, adorable and entertaining, but ask yourself this: would you want to be in a romantic relationship with one? Until recently, 33-year-old Kelly Brook appeared to have few qualms on that front, admitting that living with her boyfriend Danny Cipriani – eight years her junior – was a bit like having a puppy. "They make mistakes and do silly things, and you have to love them unconditionally and understand that they are young and learning," she said.

Yet Brook could see the flipside of the coin, too: "It's a nice ego boost that someone in their 20s is attracted to you when you're 30. You hit 30 and you're like, 'Oh, I've got a nice young toyboy!' It's fabulous."

But after their recent split – and following a few rounds on the on-off-on carousel – Kelly has been in a rather reflective mood. "I should probably have stayed single until now and focused on myself a lot more," she said recently.
